We have updated our WSGI hosting package to support Python version 2.7.2, This latest stable version of Python has been a much requested feature by our users and contains many new features. We encourage our users to check their applications to ensure that they still operate as expected under this new version. Please contact us if you experience any problems after this upgrade.
We are pleased to announce that our new webmail system is now live. The new web interface uses the popular and feature rich open source Horde software to provide features such as contacts, calendar, multiple folders and more. Mobile devices are supported too with a compact interface for ease of use and faster page loading.
We have updated our PHP hosting to now support PHP version 5.3.8. This new version offers numerous new features and bug fixes, please see the following link for more information: Migrating from PHP 5.2.x to PHP 5.3.x. The majority of our members' websites should be compatible with this new version as there are only a small number of deprecated functions since the previous version. Please contact us if you notice any problems with your PHP site since this upgrade
Multiple FTP details are now supported on members' accounts at no extra charge. If more than one person edits your website you are now able to give them different log on details which can be added or removed at any time. These extra credentials will not give access the members section so your other details remain private. Please contact us for further details.
We have updated our Python and CGI hosting packages to support version 1.3 of the Python Django web framework. There are lots of new features in this latest version which are detailed in the Django 1.3 release notes, there are however a number of backwards incompatible changes from the previous stable release, these are detailed in the release notes. Please contact us if you notice any problems with your Django site since this upgrade
We are pleased to announce that we now support the Numerical Python API: NumPy. NumPy is the fundamental package needed for scientific computing with Python and adds a fast and sophisticated array facility to the Python language. This API is now available to all our CGI and python web hosting users.
In our ongoing battle to combat spam we are now using DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM). Our mail server will now add a DKIM signature to all of our members' outgoing email automatically so recipients can validate that it was sent from the correct source, rather than from a spammer.
We are pleased to announce that we now support the Python M2Crypto Cryptographic API. This provides a wrapper to OpenSSL functions and supports encrypted network protocols amongst its features. This API is now available to all our CGI and python web hosting users.
