We have installed a new MySQL database server. Please make sure that if you have hard coded the database server host in your web application you will need to change it to "mysql.int.devisland.net".

Subversion (SVN) repository hosting is now available for an additional £1 per month. This is via HTTPS and is fully compatible with IDEs such as Eclipse.

The hostname for MySQL database access has changed to "mysql.int.devisland.net". This change was required as we plan to support several different databases in the near future. The old hostname of "127.0.0.1" will still be working for some time yet, but we recommend users to update their applications when convenient.

Our sending mail server (SMTP) is currently offline due to a technical problem. This problem will be resolved by 6PM tomorrow, if you need to send email in the meantime please use the following server: "smtptemp.devisland.net" or our Webmail. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause.

We have increased the RAM in our main webserver.

We now have a RSS feed for our news items. This means you do not need to keep visiting our News page to check for the latest new feature or scheduled maintenance. The easiest way to view the feed is via your web browser, if you use Mozilla's FireFox you can view instructions here.

The version of PHP on our webserver has been upgraded to 4.4.2. This should not cause any issues, but please contact us if you notice problems in your PHP applications.

We will be upgrading our network tomorrow (07/07/2006), this upgrade should go smoothly without affecting any customer services but we are mentioning this here just in case there any problems with connectivity.

The Members Area is currently being upgraded, any account changes will not take effect for the next 24 hours. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this but we hope you all will see the new members as a big improvement over the last one.

We have added an extra anti spam feature to our receiving mail server. All incoming mail is now checked against the Composite Blocking List. If the sending mail server is listed then the mail will be rejected by our server.

We will be performing network maintenance at 5PM on 19/05/2006 (Friday), This will affect incoming mail (POP3) and websites. Normal network connectivity will be resumed later on in the evening. Sorry for any inconvenience caused by this planned work.

Sadly we are ceasing our free hosting service. This is due mainly to the amount of users abusing the free service, which included activities such as spamming or uploading illegal software.
In 1 month's time our free server will be shutdown.
If you have a free hosting with us and wish to keep your account you may upgrade to our standard package at a cost of only £1 per month, this includes various benefits such as 100MB of space and an email account. Please contact us stating your username to upgrade.

We have upgraded our mod_python hosting setup. You no longer need to upload your files into the "python" directory of your site. All current mod_python users have had their sites upgraded to the new settings. You now can upload your mod_python files into your "htdocs" directory like normal HTML files.

Our Python software has been upgraded to the latest version 2.4.2, which provides numerous new features. The mod_python and MySQLdb modules have also been upgraded to their latest versions. All existing python applications should be uneffected by this update.

We now have backup receiving mail server. This will hold our members' email in the event of any problems with our POP3 server.

We have a new receiving mail server. Even more anti-spam checks are now performed including checking for DomainKeys. All incoming mail is now scanned for viruses and quarantined if infected.
