We have upgraded our PHP hosting setup. You no longer need to upload your files into the "php" directory of your site or make your ".php" files executable. All current PHP users have had their sites upgraded to the news ettings. You now can upload your PHP files into your "htdocs" directory like normal HTML files.

Our Mod_python Package now supports custom Python handlers as well as the PSP handler. We have uploaded more information about using this feature in the Help section of our site.

We have a new SMTP server that supports SMTP Auth. This means that you no longer need to check your email before you send. We are encouraging all customers to change over to this server as soon as possible. For full details of your email settings please check our Email information page in the Help section of our site. If you enounter any problems using this new server please contact us immediately and we will resolve them as quickly as possible.

We will be performing maintenance on one of our servers due to an upgrade of its RAID configuration. This will affect our paying users for a short period of time during this coming Sunday (4th) evening. We apologise to our customers in advance for the disruption in service.

Our Java hosting package is now compatible with Apache Axis, MyFaces, Struts and Hibernate technologies.

We have installed PHPMyAdmin on theMembers section. To access it just log in and click on the "MySQL Admin" button at the bottom of the page. PHPMyAdmin has many more features than our previous software, giving you greater control over your database.

For the last 24 hours we have been testing and configuring an upgraded router to one of our servers. This new router will give us greater firewall protection. During this time some users may have noticed connectivity issues sending and receiving emails. We apologise to our customers for the disruption in service.

The upgrade of our MySQL server to version 4.0 has been completed. We have fully tested the new version with our other software versions but please contact us if your application is nowproducing any errors.

We have moved our Webmail link out of the Members section andis now at the top of all pages. This means that if you have more than one person with email using your account they do not need to know your FTP/account username and password to check their mail, just their POP3 details. Our webmail is fully secured by using a valid SSL certificate, which you can check by clicking on the padlock icon in your browser.

We plan to upgrade our MySQL server version from 3.23 to 4.0, this offers numerous feature enhancements for our database users. For full information see the MySQL changelog. This should not effect any of our users's code, but we will be happy to help users that encounter problems after the upgrade.

We are in the progress of moving our free users to a new server on a separate dedicated link. If you have a free account and are experiencing problems uploading to your site via FTP please make sure you have your FTP host set as: "www.yourusername.devisland.net". For example if your username is jbloggs then you FTP host should be set to: "www.jbloggs.devisland.net".

We will be upgrading our main webserver this morning, due to this the server will be down for 10 minutes while the upgrade takes place. This is part of our constant server upgrade plan to maintain the high quality of service that we provide. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our signup pages and members section are now fully SSL encrypted. This means that when you're using the WebMail,WebFTP or altering account details, the data sent between your browser and our server will be secured with 256 bit encryption to protect your privacy.

Our Java application server has been updated. This now allows 2.4 Servlets and 2.0 Java Server Pages to be deployed, it also has improved perfomance. This server now runs on Java 1.5, therefore you can use its new features in your Java applications.

PHPMailer has now been installed, this means that you can use popular features that many email clients use nowadays such as HTML-based emails and attachments in your PHP code rather than using the standard mail() function.
