Setting up an email account with Mozilla Thunderbird

This guide details how to setup an email account with Mozilla Thunderbird using SMTP Auth.
  1. Firstly open up Thunderbird.
  2. Next click on the "Edit" menu at the top of the window then select "Accounts settings...".




  3. The Accounts settings window will appear. Click on the "Add Account..." button.




  4. The new account wizard will appear. Select "Email account" as the type of account you wish to create. Click "Next >" to move on to the next step of the wizard.




  5. Now enter your name and email address in the boxes provided. The email address should all be in lowercase. Click the "Next >" button to move to the next step.




  6. Make sure that you select "POP" for your incoming mail server. Then enter the incomming and outgoing server names in the boxes provided. Use the image below for the correct names to enter or see our Email information page.




  7. Now enter in your POP3 username in the both the boxes. Click "Next >" to move on to the next step of the wizard.




  8. Now type a friendly name for this email account. Click "Next >" to move on to the next step of the wizard.




  9. Configuration is now complete with the settings you entered shown in the window, double check these and then click the "Finish" button.
