Publishing your site with Microsoft FrontPage
Using FrontPage is a quick and easy way to create, modify and upload your site without needing any knowledge
of FTP. For more information visit Microsoft's FrontPage site.
After you have created a page and saved it on your computer, follow the steps below to publish your site to your webspace.
-
Left click on the "File" menu. Now select the "Publish Web..." option.
-
A new window will appear, type in the full web address of your site (include the http://) in the white box,
then click the "OK" button.
-
Now another window will appear, type in your username and password in the two boxes provided. Tick the save
password box if needed. Now click "OK" button.
-
A new window will appear showing the files to be uploaded. Normally all you need to do at this point is to
click the "Publish" located at the bottom of the window. Using the directory view in this window you
may select which files you would like to upload if needed.
-
The window will now disappear and FrontPage will try to connect to your website. After a successful connection
a progress bar will be shown like the one below.
-
When the uploading has been completed you will have the option to view your website in your web browser, or view
the upload log. Click the "Done" button to close the window.
