If you have a paid account there is no bandwidth restriction at this time. If you have a free account there is a 1 Gig per month transfer limit.

Use our web based FTP program. Just login to the members section by clicking on the "Members" button near the top of the page, then click on the "WebFTP" link.

The text on my pages is not displaying correctly, what's going on?
Sounds like you need to use a different character set on your pages, below is a link to more information on charsets.

Using a different character set on your site

When trying to view my site I get a "Permission Denied" error in my browser.
When you upload your pages you need to make sure that you have an index page. This is the starting page of your site and will be displayed when a viewer types in your web address. This file should be called "index.html" or "index.htm" (all lowercase).

Is there a charge when transferring my domain to or from your server?
No, but if you move your domain to us you will still have to pay your domain name annual renewal charge as per usual.

I get an error when I try to send mail using your server, whats up?
For added security you have to check your mail before you can send mail using your account. For example in Microsoft's Outlook you just need to click the "Send & Receive" button before you send any mail through us.

Are my email accounts included within my quota limit?
Yes, all the email addresses assigned to your account are within your quota.

I have two domains hosted with you, can I have them going to two different websites?
No, we only provide one set of webspace per account. You would need to have two seperate accounts to do this, or use a fancy CGI/PHP script.

What are all these different directories in my site for?
Here is a summary to what each of the directories on your site are for:

cgi-bin  CGI, Perl and Python programs only
htdocs  Normal website files (HTML, WAP, SSI, images etc), PHP & Python scripts
logs  Your http and servlet logs
mail  This is where all your POP3 mail is kept
mysql  MySQL database files are located here (optional)
postgres  PostgreSQL database files are located here (optional)
servlets  Your Java servlets should be placed here

Do you support favicons?
Yes, you need to make sure that you create a multi-format icon as different browsers use different sizes and /or depths of icons. You may also need to bookmark your site before the icon is displayed by your browser. The icon should be uploaded into your "htdocs" directory and called "favicon.ico" (lowercase). A good program for creating these files is IconCool-Editor from Newera Software Technology Inc (shareware).

We filter and mark all mail that is suspected of being spam at our server. This makes it easier for you to filter it out with one rule in your mail client.

I am having problems using your payment links, how do I pay you?
If you can't use our payment links on the members section, then you can use the NoChex or PayPal sites directly. To do this just login using your PayPal or NoChex account details then send the reguired amount of money to our email address:

support@devisland.net

Why is my free account "temporarily deactivated"?
With our free accounts you do need to login to your account via FTP at least once every six weeks. You don't need to modify any files just log in, then out again. We have put this in place due to the large amount of wasted accounts from people signing up then never using them.
If this happens to you, your account can be put back online as before with all the same details and no loss of data, on request.
Please let us know if this is a problem.

Which payment methods are supported?
We support the following payment methods:

server response 421 4.3.2 (IPT::RL)rate limited. HTTP:://postmaster.aol.com/errors/554iptrl.html
Then you will need to connect to our SMTP server on port 225 rather than the normal port of 25, all other settings remain the same.

This is due to AOL blocking access to third party email. Here is a more detailed explanation from AOL.

Orange also has a similar policy.
